AACE (Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering)
AACE International is the largest organization serving the entire spectrum of the cost management profession.

This Certified Cost Technician (CCT) training course is delivered under the Authorized Education Provider (AEP) accreditation program by AACE International. Your instructors are highly qualified and experienced international experts in the fields of cost engineering and project management.

Why should you attend this training course and earn your Certified Cost Technician (CCT) title?

In today's business world, project-oriented organizations are continuously under pressure to invest in and implement a growing number of projects. These projects are becoming more complex and innovative. This reality gives rise to several major challenges. All professionals involved in making or influencing management and business decisions concerning capital projects should be well-versed in the best practices, supporting tools and techniques of project capital budgeting, and should be updated on the latest developments. The Certified Cost Technician (CCT) training course will teach you the techniques of cost estimating, project planning, and cost control for the various stages of an industrial project.

What will you learn in this certifying training course?

Becoming a Certified Cost Technician (CCT) is challenging. In this CCT training course you will demonstrate proficiency in the skills and knowledge of Total Cost Management (TCM) and you will take the necessary steps to become a Certified Cost Technician (CCT). Moreover, by providing the complete scope of estimating, planning, and cost control, the Certified Cost Technician (CCT) training course is the first step towards occupying a vital position in a project team and towards a successful career in cost engineering or (technical) project management. The CCT training course also offers you a great opportunity towards becoming a successful project manager.

The key objective of the CCT training course is not only to provide you with the appropriate knowledge to successfully complete the exam, but also to provide you with a solid understanding of the requirements and skills of a Certified Cost Technician (CCT).

An interactive mix of lectures, case studies, spreadsheets, templates, group discussions, and exercises will be used to illustrate and apply cost engineering in practice, based on the standards of and recommended practices by AACE International and other outstanding professional associations.

Who should attend the Certified Cost Technician training?

The Certified Cost Technician (CCT) training course is suitable for everyone who is part of any team that is involved in CAPEX/OPEX projects. Generally, those seeking the Certified Cost Technician (CCT) certification represent early-career young professionals who do not yet meet the required years of experience needed to become certified as a Cost Professional (CCP), or experienced mid-to-late career professionals who wish to advance their cost engineering skills.

The training aims at project (financial) controllers, investment risk analysts, project managers, project cost controllers and cost estimators, project engineers, risk management office staff, project management office staff, project management team members, tendering teams, purchase department members, work preparators, project sponsors, and many other professionals who are involved in technical projects, cost estimation, cost control and contract review in their organization as well as those who are associated with project planning and scheduling.

Prerequisites to become a Certified Cost Technician (CCT)

To become a Certified Cost Technician (CCT) you must have at least 4 years of industrial-related experience, or 4 years of appropriate college-level/academic education.

You may also choose to certify yourself for the more advanced Cost Professional (CCP) credential. To become a Certified Cost Professional (CCP), you should have at least 8 years of professional experience (of which 4 years of appropriate college-level/academic education count as acceptable professional experience).

Cost engineers at both the technician and the professional level are often required to possess the same knowledge and skills. Therefore, the Certified Cost Technician (CCT) and the Certified Cost Professional (CCP) training courses are identical, only the exam differs.
