Earned Value Management (EVM) – the global de facto standard for performance management and project control

Performance measurement as the basis to manage projects, programs and portfolios, is becoming increasingly important for project-based organizations. Originally developed by the US Department of Defense (DoD) back in the mid-60's, Earned Value Management (EVM) has been maturing and evolving over the last decades as the global de facto standard for performance management and project control. The ultimate goal of EVM is to provide stakeholders with reliable data and quantitative information about the project status and performance to improve project success.

The adoption of Earned Value Management (EVM) implies a cultural change towards objectivity, proactivity, and opportunity management wherein variance, deviations, and
changes are all the source for developing knowledge, gaining better understanding and improving a project. Earned Value Management (EVM) is also the foundation for auditability in projects.

With the professional AACE - Earned Value Professional (EVP) certification, you demonstrate that you master the concept and application of Earned Value Management (EVM), a key requirement for all professionals involved in making or influencing management and business decisions in projects, programs, and portfolios.

Earned Value Management (EVM) is one of the most important and needed project management tools, especially in engineering and construction.

Who should attend the AACE - Earned Value Professional (EVP) training?

In this AACE - Earned Value Professional (EVP) training, you will be introduced to the EVP concepts and how to implement Earned Value Management (EVM) as the most effective and efficient approach to project performance measurement and management. The training is ideal for professionals seeking a structured, objective and internationally recognized method for project performance measurement.

This much required training is aimed at project managers, program and portfolio managers, project control professionals, contract administrators, construction managers, project engineers, industrial engineers, operations managers, cost controllers, (cost) estimators, cost account managers, project analysts, project planners/schedulers, and every other professional who is interested in a structured and objective approach to project performance management.

EVP certification – eligibility requirements

To become an AACE - Earned Value Professional (EVP) you must have at least:

  • 8 years of industry related experience, or
  • 4 years of industry related experience + 4 years of industry related college degree
